Summer Makeup Trends 2010

Here’s a few of this years Summer looks from the catwalks and style gurus:

“Watercolour” Eyes – Simply mix different colours together to make a water coloured inspired make-up look. Mix  blues, pinks, and purples all on one lid to recreat looks that we’ve been seeing in the fashion shows. Pair your eyes with nude lips, and flesh colored checks to complete the look and keep the focus on your eyes.

Sculted features – The perfection of Greek gods and statues is being used in makeup through a new trend called sculptural makeup application. This look adds a sensual and feminine side to any girl’s makeup regime, and it’s perfect for summer. It can be achieved by using foundation and light face powders combined with highlighting your cheeks in brownish shades (be careful if you have pale skin as browns can make you look grimy if you’re not careful!).

A Touch of rose – This summer, rosy cheeks are making a comeback by contrasting with natural and fresh skin. To get the rosy look, you want contrast! Your eyes should be strongly defined, lips should be neutral and your cheeks flushed. A classic beauty look!

Lip Pop -  Bright coloured lips are everywhere. From orange, purple, pinks and  reds the lips have it! We saw many coloured hues on the catwalks for the next season. When choosing bold lips be sure to tone down your eyes and your cheeks for a modern, professional look.

Natural – This is a “never fail” for summer and great for those who are colour shy when it comes to bold statement looks. Sandy colours around the eyes have been used by the likes of  Lisa Eldridge in London shows, and fresh clean skin never goes out of style ;-)
