The very talented Tia Hoshizaki sent the rest of the final images from the Yukata shoot.
I wasn’t expecting to receive so many images, so this is wonderful! It might take me a while to decide which ones I want in my actual portfolio as obviously I don’t want too many of the same image, but they are all great photos
I forgot to mention the shoot I did the other week with photographer Tia Toshizaki, model Akane Nishiya and stylist Ayaka Konno. It had a Yukata theme (a lighter, summer version of a Kimono) and Tia wanted it to be fairly dramatic with regards to the make-up. We went through some images, just to be sure we were on the same page as to just how dramatic is “dramatic”, as different peoples level of crazy is different from the next, haha
Tia drove us all up to Lynn Canyon where we thought we had limited time due to the warnings on the posts saying that they closed the gates at 6pm. We got Akane ready before we left for valley, and Tia had scouted the area a little while on a previous shoot a few days earlier, so we found a nice area and she started shooting quite quickly. We moved on to another area, shot for a bit then changed Akane into a second Yukata for a different look then rushed back to the gates as it was very very close to closing!
As we were heading back to the gates, we noticed that there were still a lot of people, not only milling around, but actually heading into the valley. So, we decided to risk it, nip inot some trees and do a bit more shooting before we left, haha! Such dare-devils, hahaha!
It was nice to be outside for a shoot, and Tia was rather well prepared with a small sheet for us to put things on the ground while we shot! I also used a few fallen trees as tables, and some broken branches to hang my smaller bags from, haha (back to nature and all that, eh! ;-))!
After the shoot Tia mentioned that if would be around 4 weeks until she would be able to get around to looking at the images she’s taken that day as she had a very hectic time ahead of her. I said that was absolutely fine and I was expecting that kind of turn-around, so I was suprised when she sent me a couple of great images several days ago!! Way to go Tia!
